Sadie is growing up fast! She looked over, saw her cousin Nelson getting ready to work on a sucker, and made a grab for it. As you can see, Nelson is not pleased with this attempt!
For all you runners out there, you'll be laughing at our excitement. Alan and I ran the traditional Grantsville 5k on the 4th of July. Yes, it killed us but we did it! And we got a T-shirt!
If my dad doesn't look winded, it's cause he's not. He ran fourteen miles a few days before, so the 3.1 was kind of a yawner. He worked hard to prepare me for the run. When we would run together, he liked to coach me up, telling me to visualize finishing the race, and to constantly say to myself, "you are a machine."
This meant a lot to me. We have an annual "Dusk to Dawn" tennis tournament the night of the 3rd. This year we named it the "Grandma Bernadine Memorial Dusk to Dawn tournament" in honor of my Grandma. All of the proceeds went to Alzheimer's research, and we discovered a foundation willing to match our donations! This is Grandpa Johnny taking the first serve to start the tournament. It was a memorable night.

I am glad you guys were here to celebrate the 4th with. I love the picture of Nelson and Sadie. You don't mess with a little boys candy.
It was "fun" running with you guys! Megs you ARE a running machine and never forget that. Always listen to your coach and you'll be just fine. Now, Al, I just don't know about him...Thanks for all the help with the tennis--you had the toughest job of the night and did it so well. I really appreciated yours and everyone's help. I know Granpa J was pleased and Grandma B was looking down with a huge smile. I was glad we didn't kill each other or anyone else. Are you up for it for next year??!
